Roast Chicken with Soy Sauce

This roast chicken with soy sauce is a delicious dish from the Far East. It is perfect for a quick and easy weeknight dinner. The soy sauce gives the chicken a great flavor and the vegetables add a nice crunch to the meal. Serve with steamed rice for a complete meal.


  • 4-6 chicken drumsticks
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 2 carrots, peeled and chopped
  • 2 stalks celery, chopped


  1. Preheat oven to 375F (190C). Place chicken drumsticks in a baking dish.
  2. In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, honey, garlic powder, ground ginger and vegetable oil. Mix together until combined.
  3. Pour the soy sauce mixture over the chicken drumsticks and turn to coat all sides.
  4. Add carrots and celery to the baking dish around the chicken.
  5. Bake in preheated oven for 40-50 minutes or until cooked through and golden brown.
