Jari Annabi- Chorba Frick with Chicken Wings

This recipe for Jari Annabi-Chorba Frick is a traditional Moroccan dish that combines chicken wings with a flavorful chorba. It’s a classic comfort food that’s perfect for a family meal.


  • 2 pounds chicken wings
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste


  1. In a large pot over medium heat, heat the olive oil. Add the onion and garlic and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  2. Add the cumin, paprika, turmeric and cayenne pepper and stir to combine. Cook for 1 minute more.< li > Add the chicken wings and cook until lightly browned, about 8 minutes.< li > Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 15 minutes.< li > Stir in the tomato paste and season with salt and pepper. Simmer for an additional 10 minutes.< li > Serve hot with fresh bread or couscous.
