Grandma’s Sunday Chicken

This classic Grandma’s Sunday Chicken dish is simple yet delicious. It combines succulent chicken with a flavorful combination of herbs and spices, making it the perfect meal for any occasion. Serve it with boiled potatoes, steamed vegetables, or your favorite side dish for a complete meal.

  • 1 whole chicken, about 3 pounds
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the chicken in a roasting pan. Drizzle with olive oil and rub over the entire chicken. In a small bowl, mix together garlic powder, oregano, thyme, paprika, salt and pepper. Sprinkle over the chicken and rub into the skin. Roast in preheated oven for 1 hour to 1 hour 15 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Remove from oven and let rest for 10 minutes before carving.
