Grandma’s Royal Christmas Morning Cake

This classic recipe is the perfect way to begin a royal Christmas morning. It’s sure to delight your family and friends!

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup milk
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, stir together the flour, baking powder and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. Beat in the flour mixture alternately with the milk; mix just until incorporated. Pour batter into prepared pan.
  4. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes in preheated oven, or until top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into center of cake comes out clean.
