Introducing the festive season with this delicious galette aux agrumes, which is an orange flavoured French pastry. This recipe is perfect for sharing with family and friends, and is the result of our “Noël pour par un Rond” challenge.
- 2 oranges
- 1/2 cup (120mL) of honey
- 1/4 cup (60mL) of freshly squeezed orange juice
- 1/4 teaspoon (1.25mL) of ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon (2.5mL) of ground cardamom
- 2 tablespoons (30g) of butter, melted
- 1 sheet of puff pastry, thawed if frozen
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Peel oranges, remove seeds and cut into thin slices. In a medium bowl, mix together honey, orange juice, cinnamon and cardamom. Add sliced oranges and mix until evenly coated. Place a sheet of parchment paper on a baking sheet. Place puff pastry on top and roll out until even. Arrange orange slices in a circular pattern on top of the puff pastry. Drizzle with melted butter and bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
