French Toast Cake with Caramel Sauce

This French toast cake is a classic French dessert that is perfect for any occasion. It is made with sweet bread and topped with a delicious caramel sauce. This recipe is sure to please everyone.


  • 1 loaf of sweet bread, sliced into 1-inch thick slices
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Caramel Sauce

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup corn syrup or honey
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract


  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Grease a 9-inch round baking pan.
  3. In a shallow dish, whisk together eggs, milk and vanilla extract.
  4. Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture until it’s evenly coated on both sides.>< li >Arrange the slices in the greased baking pan.< li >Sprinkle the melted butter over the top of the slices. < li >In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg.
