Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup cocoa powder
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 2 cups sugar
- 4 eggs, beaten
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup milk
Lemon Insert:
- 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk li >< li > 1/3 cup lemon juice li >< li > 1 tablespoon grated lemon zest li >< / ul >< p > Instructions: p >< ol >< li > Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour a 9×13 inch cake pan. li >< li > In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Set aside. li >< li > In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in the vanilla extract. Alternately add the dry ingredients and the milk to the butter mixture, beating until combined. Pour into prepared pan. li >< li > Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow to cool completely before rolling. li >< li > To make lemon insert: Whisk together sweetened condensed milk, lemon juice and zest in a medium bowl until smooth.
