Delicious, crispy and flavorful samosas are one of the most popular snacks in India. This Authentic Indian Samosa recipe is easy to make and will satisfy even the most discerning palate. Serve it as a snack or appetizer with your favorite chutney or sauce.
- 1 package of store-bought samosa pastry
- 1 large potato, peeled and diced
- ½ cup of peas, cooked
- 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon of coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder
- ½ teaspoon of garam masala powder
- Salt to taste
- Vegetable oil for frying
Heat the oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the cumin seeds and let them sizzle for a few seconds. Add the potatoes and cook until they’re tender. Add the peas, coriander powder, turmeric powder, garam masala powder and salt. Cook for a few more minutes until everything is well combined.
Take off the heat and let cool. Meanwhile, prepare the samosa pastry according to package instructions.
Fill each pastry with some potato filling and fold into a triangular shape. Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or pan to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius). Fry the samosas until golden brown.
Serve hot with chutney or sauce.
